CSAC Goes To Egypt

7 Divers spent a fantastic week diving in the red sea with Blue o Two. Had a great week of diving some of the best wrecks and reefs the Red Sea has to offer. We started the week diving Ras Mohammad marine park before heading North to the Thistlegorm wreck. The Thistlegorm is one of the top wreck diving locations in the world. The world war 2 cargo ship was carrying troop supplies. Whilst at anchorage the wreck was found by Axis bombers which scored a hit on the ship. The bomb exploded near the artillery store which caused a chain reaction with the force of the explosion and light seen from many miles away the ship sank almost immediately. Carrying vehicles, trains, tanks, motorbikes and ammunitions. These are all extremely well preserved and make a fantastic dive.

After the Thistlegorm we headed back West towards Hurghada arriving on Shaab Abu Na Has. The reef is the location of several wrecks including some modern cargo ships that are relatively well preserved. The Chissoula K, Ginannis D and Carnatic made for some excellent diving including very well preserved engines, winches and a workshop. The marine life is excellent we saw nudibranchs, octopus and many tropical fish species.

The only downside to the trip was 4 of us lost our bags on the way back! This included 4 rebreathers but fortunately they are now all safely reunited with there owners! Definitely a place to go back to.
